Kansas Center, Joel Embiid, has a little bit of time to think about his future with him being out with a lower back injury. It was reported that Embiid is in Los Angeles getting a second opinion from a back specialist relating to his lower back injury. Los Angeles must have really impressed Embiid as he took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to voice his desire to stay in Hollywood long term.
The NBA Draft is not until June 26th so Embiid will have to wait a few more months before learning of his new home. Embiid is being projected as the #1 or #2 overall pick in this coming draft, assuming he makes himself available. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently in the 5th spot in the lottery rankings and have a 8.8 percent chance of nabbing the 1st pick or 9.7 percent chance of getting the 2nd pick, so right now it’s not looking so good for Embiid to land in Los Angeles. There are still about 5 weeks remaining in the season so there is still time for the Lakers to move up the rankings in the lottery or just get lucky and win the top pick outright. Until then, Embiid will have to continue daydreaming of Los Angeles and going to Twitter with his thoughts. We do appreciate it.
