Lakers’ Slide Continues; Lose to Nuggets 112-105

The Los Angeles Lakers waste a 26 rebound performance from Dwight Howard and a well balanced offensive attack with 6 players scoring in double figures. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in scoring with 29 points.

The Denver Nuggets as usual got contributions from a variety of players. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets in scoring with 21 points and 10 assists. The Nuggets’ bench outscored the Lakers bench 43 to 23, with Javale McGee leading the way with 17 points.

The Lakers and Nuggets were tied 60-60 at the half, but the Lakers let the game get away from them in the 3rd quarter with the Nuggets outscoring the Lakers by 6 in the quarter.

The Lakers struggled in this game with turnovers, coughing up the ball 18 times. The Nuggets also took advantage of the Lakers older legs by pushing after misses that contributed to their 25 to 14 fast break points advantage.

It gets only tougher for the Lakers; they go up to Houston to face the Rockets on Tuesday then play the San Antonio Spurs the following night in the 2nd night of a back to back.
