The energy was high at Staples Center as the sold out crowd filled the arena for the Lakers season opener. There were many reasons to be excited: It was the first look at a healthy Kobe Bryant since March of Last season and the first time he took the court against former teammate Dwight Howard since he shunned the Lakers before last season. That energy was quickly zapped shortly after tip-off as the Rockets took control of the game early and were never threatened, winning the season opener 108-90. It took 3 games but the Lakers finally registered their first win in Summer League play and it came in dramatic fashion. The Lakers down by 1 in overtime with 6.1 seconds go the entire length of the floor, get the ball in the hands of Julius Randle whose 5 foot shot hits the front of rim, but Jordan Clarkson is there to tip in the miss at the buzzer, giving the Lakers an, 89-88, victory over the Golden State Warriors.
