Former Los Angeles Lakers legend and current Hall-of-Famer Elgin Baylor turned 80 years young today. When discussing some of the greatest Lakers players of all time you usually don’t hear Baylor’s name come up and much of that has do with the fact that his career ended over 40 years ago, there is very little video of his playing days and whatever video is available is grainy.
From a position of having very little knowledge as to the type of medical care available in the United States being I’ve been lucky to never have needed anything more than a prescription to rid myself of some peculiar rash picked up from who the heck knows where, I would presume that it is the best in the world, or close to it, considering the size and wealth of our country. The Los Angeles Lakers enter the 2014-2015 NBA season with numerous unanswered questions, from the health status of certain players such as Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, to which players will crack the starting line-up. One of the few things that are not in question is that Bryant will be the leader of this team; leading both on the court if physically able to play and verbally from the sidelines and in the locker room. USA Today is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers’ held a private workout yesterday with numerous free agents. The list of free agent invitees included Michael Beasley, who had a workout with the Lakers in late July, Toney Douglas, Dexter Pittman, Daniel Orton, Greg Stiemsma, Malcolm Lee, Ben Hansbrough and Bobby Brown.
