Kobe Bryant defied the odds by completing his comeback from not only returning from 1 devastating injury but two: a torn Achilles that ended his season after 78 games in 2013 and then a fractured left knee that ended his season after just 6 games in 2014. This takes us to 2015 where Bryant played in 35 games before again succumbing to another major injury, this time a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder which will likely end his season.   Continue reading

The Lakers played without Kobe Bryant for the 2nd straight game and 8th time this season, and like in most games that they have gone to play without him they’ve lost. As was the case on Monday where the Lakers lost to the Suns in Phoenix, 115-100, a game in which they turned the ball over a season high 23 times which turned into 27 points for the opposition.  Continue reading

Lakers are sloppy in 94-85 loss to the Utah Jazz

There was once talk that the ball moved better for the Lakers when Kobe Bryant wasn’t on the floor. That didn’t happen on Friday where the Lakers’ offense produced just 7 assists on 31 made baskets and committed 19 turnovers in route to a 94-85 loss to the Jazz in Utah.  Continue reading

Kobe sets career high with 17 assists in Lakers 109-102 loss to Cavs

Thursday’s night game had a special feel to it, with it being a nationally televised game and possibly being one of the last few times we’ll get to see both all-time greats Kobe Bryant and Lebron James on the same court. Both players put on a show: Bryant set a career high with 17 assists but it was James with his game high 36 points that got the 109-102 win. Continue reading

With season lost, time is now for Lakers to acquire assets in trade

Well, Kobe Bryant sat out another game this past Sunday, his 6th he’s sat out this season and all for the same reason, not because of a debilitating injury that prevents him from taking the floor, but to rest. He is 36 years old after all and coming off 2 major injuries so it is understandable that he would need to rest an aging body. Don’t forget the whole mileage thing, having played 19 seasons, made 7 final appearances and played in 1,498 games including the regular season and playoffs.  Continue reading
