Saturday’s Summer League match-up between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers pinned the number 2 pick, Lakers guard D’Angeleo Russell, and the 76ers’ center Jahlil Okafor, the 3rd pick who many had expected the Lakers to take. Both players but on a good show for the summer league audience who packed the Thomas and Mack center in Vegas to watch the match-up.
The Lakers used a 41 to 28 2nd half to pull away from the 76ers and take the game 68-61 to even up their summer league record to 1-1.

The much anticipated debut of the recently drafted rookies for the Los Angeles Lakers finally took place today in Las Vegas as the NBA Summer League kicked off in Sin City. It took 3 games but the Lakers finally registered their first win in Summer League play and it came in dramatic fashion. The Lakers down by 1 in overtime with 6.1 seconds go the entire length of the floor, get the ball in the hands of Julius Randle whose 5 foot shot hits the front of rim, but Jordan Clarkson is there to tip in the miss at the buzzer, giving the Lakers an, 89-88, victory over the Golden State Warriors.
