Lebron James’ Performance in 2016 NBA Finals was Legendary

Lebron James just dominated the Golden State Warriors in the the 2016 NBA Finals in route to earning his third NBA title and first for the city of Cleveland.

James carried a far inferior Cavs team over the big odds-on favorite and defending champs Warriors, a team who just set the NBA mark with 73 wins in the regular season and led by the recently crowned unanimous MVP, Steph Curry, and did so after being down by what many had pegged as an insurmountable 3 games to 1 deficit in the series.

The performance was the stuff of legends with James leading in every major statistical category in the series.

James’ Stats and Rank in the Finals:

Points: 29.7 per game – 1st (2nd: Irving, 27.1 ppg)

Assists: 8.9 per game – 1st (2nd: D.Green, 6.3 apg)

Rebounds: 11.3 per game – 1st (2nd: D.Green, 10.3 rpg)

Steals: 2.6 per game – 1st (2nd: Irving, 2.1 spg)

Blocks: 2.3 per game – 1st (2nd: Bogut, 2.0 bpg)

James’ overall numbers in the series dont quite tell the story as it was in the last 3 games, after the Cavs fell down in the series 3 games to 1 and facing elimination, where he took his game to another level that the NBA world hasn’t seen in memory.

James Stats from Game 5 to 7

Points per game: 36.3

Rebounds per game: 11.7

Assists per game: 9.7

Blocks per game: 3.0

Steals per game: 3.0

FG%: 50.6

Following the game 7 victory even the most ardent James detractors were giving praise and acknowledging the greatness that they just witnessed.
