Byron Scott amassed a lowly 38 and 126 record in his two seasons as the Lakers head coach. In each of the two seasons he set a franchise record for the lowest winning percentage for a season. While the young players progressed well under Scott there always seemed to be some disconnect.
Some names that will come up as possible replacements as head coach of the Lakers are Spurs assistant coaches Ettore Messina and Ime Udoka; former Lakers’ and current Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton; from the college circuit Kentucky’s John Calipari, UConn’s Kevin Ollie and UofA’s Sean Miller; and the usual established coaches such as George Karl, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Dunleavy.
