- The Los Angeles Lakers will have to immediately turn around and play the Phoenix Suns after a horrible opening night on Tuesday where they got beat by 18 by the Houston Rockets and lost Julius Randle for the year due to a fractured tibia which he suffered in the 4th quarter.
- The Phoenix Suns will open the 2014-2015 season at home against the Lakers. The Suns won 48 games in a tough Western Conference last season and missed qualifying for the NBA playoffs by just 1 game.
- The Suns beat the Lakers, 114-108, in preseason. Kobe Bryant scored 27 points on 10 for 20 on the night. Isaiah Thomas scored 26 points and Gerald Green scored 21 off the bench to lead the Suns in scoring.
- Xavier Henry who was doubtful to return for the season opener earlier in the week surprisingly returned to action sooner than anticipated and played 18 minutes last night. Henry, however, was not effective on the night, going 0 for 4 from the field and scoring 3 points.
