The Lakers got back one of their important pieces back, Jeremy Lin, from injury Tuesday Night but still fell to the Phoenix Suns in overtime, 114-108.
Lin scored 15 points and dished out 6 assists coming off the bench but the back up point guard that put on the show was the Suns Isaiah Thomas who scored a team high 26 points and knocked down 12 of 13 free throws.
Kobe Bryant had his 3rd straight kobe-like game, scoring a game high 27 points on 10 for 20 from the field. Bryant scored 8 of his 27 points in the crucial 4th quarter. Bryant played 2 minutes in overtime before he was taken out for good by coach Byron Scott.
What will undoubtedly make Coach Scott happy is the markedly improved defense on Tuesday night from the Lakers, holding the Suns to 41.7 percent shooting from the field and 38 points in the paint. The big difference in the game was the disparity in fast break points where the Suns were plus 19 on the night (30 to 11.)
The loss brought the Lakers preseason record to 2-4 with 2 games to play. The Lakers next game is Wednesday against the Portland Trailblazers in Ontario, California.
