It has been almost 4 months since the Lakers announced the resignation of Mike D’Antoni and finally they have found his replacement. Today it was reported by ESPN reporter, Ramona Shelburne, that the Los Angeles Lakers and Byron Scott have agreed to terms.

The Lakers had Scott in for numerous interviews prior to making their decision and it seemed like it was a forgone conclusion that he’d get the nod from the front office; however, the Lakers decision didn’t come and it continued to drag on for weeks, reaching almost a  comical point. The delay dragged on so long that many even began to speculate that the Lakers were waiting for Clippers coach, Doc Rivers, to bail on the whole Donald Sterling debacle and swoop him up. The speculation is finally over and the Lakers can finally move forward to preparing for the upcoming season.

We completed a very thorough coaching profile of Byron Scott when he was still just a candidate for the job. Please feel free to check it out to learn about Scott’s history as a player and coach.
