Randle’s huge 4th carries Lakers to a win over Nuggets, 83-77

The Los Angeles Lakers took the lead early against the Denver Nuggets, but had to hold on late, edging the Nuggets, 83-77.

Julius Randle was scoreless through 3 quarters, but woke up in the 4th, scoring 12 of his 14 team high points in the quarter. Jordan Clarkson was also a big contributor in the 4th quarter charge, scoring 5 points in the pivotal 2 minutes to end the quarter. Clarkson finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Kevin Murphy shared the lead in scoring for the Lakers with 14 points.

The Nuggets were led in scoring by guard, Erick Green, who had a game high, 20 points. Gary Harris, who has been impressive for the Nuggets throughout the entire Las Vegas Summer League sessions, scored 18 points, had 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

The win over the Nuggets places the Lakers record in summer league to 2-3, but out of contention for the tournament playoffs.
