The Los Angeles made a few moves today, bringing back shooting guard Xavier Henry, and waiving point guard Kendall Marshall.

The Lakers desperately needed depth at shooting guard with an aging Kobe Bryant who is coming off two major injuries. Henry is the only other shooting guard on the roster at the moment, other than Kobe Bryant. Henry registered career highs in points, minutes, rebounds, steals, assists and free throw attempts per game last season with the Lakers. Henry struggled to stay healthy, playing in only 43 games.

The waiving of Kendall Marshall is a bit of a surprise with the hot start that had after being acquired from the D-League. However, Marshall struggled to close out the season and has play in summer league has been lackluster. In 4 games games in summer league play, Marshall is averaging 8.3 points per game and shooting 31.4 percent from the field. It did not help Marshall’s cause that rookie point guard has been impressive in summer league, Jordan Clarkson who is leading the Lakers summer league team in scoring at 16.8 points per game.

The Lakers close out their Las Vegas Summer League season today when the play the Denver Nuggets in a consolation game.
