The Los Angeles Lakers added another piece to their 2014-15 squad by acquiring former Chicago Bulls, Carlos Boozer via a waiver claim. The Bulls had amnestied Boozer to make room for the signing of Pau Gasol.

Boozers is a few years removed from his days in Utah when you could pencil him in for 20 points and 10 rebounds. Now at age 32, Boozer will serve as another veteran voice along with Kobe Bryant, and can still produce modestly. Boozer averaged 13.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and shot 45.6 percent from the field in 76 games. Another positive about Boozer is that he has rarely missed games in the last two seasons, 9 to be exact, which should comforting for the Lakers who have struggled with injuries to their roster the last 2 seasons.
The Lakers now have 4 power forwards on their roster with the addition of Boozer who joins Jordan Hill, Julius Randle and newly acquired Ed Davis; however, Davis and Hill can play center. Ryan Kelly is still unsigned but reports are that the Lakers do intend to bring him back next season which will add to the depth in the front court.
