Lakers sign former Lottery Pick, Ed Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to fill out their roster by picking up forward Ed Davis Wednesday as reported by Yahoo Sports.

Davis was selected 13th in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. Davis is a 6-10 power forward with a 7 foot wingspan that will look to fill the void in the front court that Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman have left.

Davis had developed into a very productive role player for the Toronto Raptors before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in the middle of the 2012-13 season as part of the 3 team deal that sent Rudy Gay to the Raptors. In his final season with the Raptors, Davis averaged 9.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and shot 55 percent in only 24 minutes. After being traded to the Grizzlies, Davis was unable to sustain the progression as a player and eventually fell out of the rotation. In the just completed 2014 playoffs, Davis averaged just 0.9 points in 3.6 minutes per game for the Grizzlies who lost to the Thunder in 7 games.
