The Los Angeles Lakers fell to 0-2 in Summer League play with their 90-73 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday.
The Lakers finally signed 1st round pick, Julius Randle, early in the day Sunday which allowed him to make his summer league debut. Randle played 21 minutes, scored 10 points and pulled down 2 rebounds.
Jordan Clarkson had another impressive showing, scoring 16 points including 3 for 6 from deep. Clarkson had a hard time holding on to the ball, committing 5 turnovers, but he has been mainly playing off the ball with Kendall Marshall handling the lead guard duties.
The Lakers were led in scoring and rebounding by Trey Thompkins, who finished with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Thompkins was incredibly efficient on the night, hitting 7 of his 9 shots. Thompkins last played in the NBA in 2013 for the Los Angeles Clippers and has not been able to win a roster spot since that time.
The Lakers get another shot at their first win on Monday when they face the Golden State Warriors.
