The Los Angeles Lakers acquired the rights to Missouri point guard, Jordan Clarkson, from the Washington Wizards who had selected him with their 46th pick. The Los Angeles Lakers announced the trade shortly after the completion of the draft:

Clarkson is a big ball handling guard that is quick for a player his size and possess great length which will allow him to defend both guard positions. Mitch Kupchak provided a little bit of his thoughts on Clarkson:

It wasn’t just the Lakers draft board that had Clarkson projected higher, most in the late 1st round.

Clarkson provided his own assessment of his game.

He’s drawn comparison to Philadelphia’ s point guard, Micheal Carter-Williams, in both body type, fluidity and inefficient deep shot, even though unlike Carter-Williams, Clarkson is a solid shooter from the free throw. Looking at his highlights you’ll see it’s a good comparison.

Clarkson seems to be happy getting a chance to play for the purple and gold next season.
