Los Angeles Clippers sponsors that have dropped the team.

Carmax, Red Bull and Kia lead in Dropping Clippers amidst Sterling Scandal

Before we even get to the news of whatever sanctions, suspensions or fines that NBA commissioner Adam Silver will deliver tomorrow in his press conference , the fall out to Los Angeles Clippers’ owner Donald T. Sterling racially charged comments has already begun. Sponsors of the Los Angeles Clippers are starting to drop like flieson Monday, with Carmax leading the pack. Carmax released this official statement on their website:

April 28, 2014 – CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers’ owner completely unacceptable. These views directly conflict with CarMax’s culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for 9 years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.

Ryan Ruggiero with CNBC reported via his Twitter account that Red Bull, Virgin America and Kia have either dropped or suspended their sponsorship of the Los Angeles Clippers.

State Farm released a statement admonishing the statements from Sterling and announced that they would pause their sponsorship of the team.

Buzz Feed News reported that Souther California based water brand, Aqua Hydrate is also suspending their sponsorship of the Clippers.

That is six prominent sponsors that have taken the first step in sending a clear message to the NBA and the public that they will not associate themselves in anyway with an owner of an team that holds the raciest views as that of Donald T. Sterling.

Update 4/28/14:
